New Communities In HPPS

There has been a big change in HPPS because there are now new communities. These communities are called: Piha, Muriwai, Waiake Kare Kare and Bethells. We have chosen to use these names because they are local beaches and they are a big part of the west Auckland area. Each community group relates to a different color; Piha is green, Muriwai is purple,Waiake is red, Kare Kare is yellow and Bethell's is blue.

My Community is Waiake and in each community we have 3-5 teachers. In Waiake the teachers are Amy, Rachael, Daniel and Liv. Pihas teachers are Rashelle, Megan, Max and Elizabeth. Muriwai are Felicity, Trudy, Rosie/Erin and Yodette. Kare Kare are Reid, Angela, Sarah and Karma. Bethells are Kerry, Nicole, Lisa and Kristyn.

The reason why we made up these communities is so we can make new friends and and have a different experience with different age groups.We all had our first meeting on the 17th of March, and that day we introduced ourselves to the younger kids, and we all tried to make up a design for our community names.

Apart from making new friends, each group can be interactive and explore new games and partake in other activities.This is decided by the children in each  community. Waiake might be having a sports day and a running competition which is still to be confirmed.
