What We Need For Our Bottle Rocket

  1. Plastic bottle 2.5L Coke Bottle-buy
  2. Cork-buy
  3. Bike Pump-at home?
  4. Duck tape-buy
  5. Square of paper-at school
  6. CardBoard-buy
  7. Water-at school
  8. Styrofoam-buy

Making the rocket

Firstly we got a 2.25L bottle, we took the cap off because we didn't need it during this experiment. Then we used cardboard to cut out some wings, we had to make sure that the wings where even. Once they were even I duct
taped the wings on to the sides of the bottle making them level.

This should make the rocket go smoother, faster and higher.

Rocket Launch

Questions
What Is Air PressureDoes the amount of water affect who high the rocket flys
Key Words:RocketPlastic BottleAir-PressureLaunch

Our Summary
Air pressure is the weight of air molecules going down to the ground.
Compressed air is squeezed air into a small space. We will be using compressed air to make our rocket fly.

Hypothesis

Hypothesis: We think the rocket will fly higher with the bottle filled half way with water because the more water that is  in the rocket the more pressure is on the air inside. We don’t want to fill it right up with water because water is denser than air, making it heavier. The more pressure  on the air, the more it floods out of the bottle, the higher it will go.

Projet For Science Fair

Cate and I are working on building a Bottle Rocket we are trying to swap fuel with air pressure. Our questions are What is air pressure and Does the amount of water affect how high the rocket flies. At the moment we working from scratch and we haven't gotten the materials yet but we will get them soon.We have been going through different websites to see what information we can find.
This is our plan.
